The EcoDay project is aimed at increasing environmental awareness among students, promoting a culture of responsible consumption, and fostering environmentally conscious thinking within the student community. The main purpose of the event is to draw attention to pressing environmental issues such as pollution, excessive consumption of natural resources, and inefficient waste management, while also promoting the principles of sustainable development and an environmentally responsible lifestyle.
Within the framework of the project, special attention is given to educating students about the importance of waste sorting and recycling, reducing waste generation, reusing household items and everyday products, and adopting environmentally friendly habits in daily life. The event contributes to the development of practical eco-friendly behaviors, including separate waste collection, conscious consumption, reducing the use of disposable materials, and supporting initiatives aimed at protecting the environment.
The EcoDay project also seeks to develop students’ active civic engagement, involve young people in environmental initiatives, and strengthen their sense of personal responsibility for the condition of the environment. Through interactive activities, educational platforms, workshops, environmental challenges, and team-based initiatives, participants gain not only theoretical knowledge in the field of ecology but also the opportunity to apply these principles in their everyday lives.
Furthermore, organizing EcoDay contributes to strengthening the environmental culture within KBTU, supporting student initiatives, and promoting the principles of sustainable development across the university community. The project also enhances the university’s image as an educational institution that supports modern environmental values, social responsibility, and student involvement in addressing global environmental challenges.
