In 2024, the first graduates of KBTU established a Personalized Scholarship from KBTU Alumni in honor of Maulen Burashev, a 2006 graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Finance of KBTU (now the Business School). The scholarship is sponsored by Maulen's fellow graduate students.
"Maulen was one of the successful students of our university. From his first days at KBTU, he began to actively participate in student life, as a result of which he was elected the first President of the KBTU Student Board. Many student events were held for the first time under the leadership of Maulen. Maulen was one of the founders of the KBTU debate club, and an international debate tournament was held annually at the university under the auspices of the United Nations. Maulen's academic performance was also outstanding. He graduated with a master's degree from the University of Bristol and worked at KPMG, Halyk Finance, Visor Capital. He spent the last years of his career at Halyk Leasing as a finance director and E&Y company.
We knew Maulen as an honest, open, motivated person and a reliable friend. Maulen embodied the example of a worthy citizen of our country, and we hope that he will serve as an example for future generations" – graduates of 2006 and 2007.
All students from any school can take part in the Maulen Burashev Scholarship competition.
